January, 2024

Our recent  visit to the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Hematology was a significant step forward in our mission to elevate healthcare standards and ensure the safety and quality of patient services in our country. At the forefront of our discussions was the vital topic of accreditation for medical facilities, particularly in the realm of laboratory services. We recognize that accreditation plays a pivotal role in improving safety and quality patient care, and our visit focused on advancing this important initiative. Of particular importance was our exploration of establishing an Institutional Review Board (IRB) at the Hematology Center. Recognizing the critical role of IRBs in overseeing and approving clinical research, we are committed to establishing the first IRB committee in the country. Our efforts include comprehensive IRB training to ensure that ethical standards are upheld in all clinical research endeavors.

The establishment of an IRB marks a significant milestone in promoting ethical research practices and enhancing the credibility of clinical research in our country. It reflects our commitment to prioritizing patient safety and upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct in healthcare. As we continue to work towards accreditation and the establishment of the IRB, we are confident that these initiatives will have a lasting impact on the quality of healthcare services provided to our patients. Together, we are laying the foundation for a healthcare system that prioritizes safety, quality, and ethical conduct at every turn.

We were thrilled to host a delegation from Bukhara Medical Institute at Boston Children's Hospital (BCH) and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) to explore potential collaborations and partnerships. It was an enlightening session where we discussed various avenues for cooperation in medical research, education, and healthcare practices. The visit included a comprehensive tour of the renowned Davis Center at Harvard University, where our guests had the opportunity to witness cutting-edge research facilities and interact with leading experts in the field.

We are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and look forward to forging strong ties with Bukhara Medical Institute to advance healthcare initiatives and make a positive impact on global health. Stay tuned for more updates on this promising collaboration!

In September 2023, we had the privilege of attending the Uzbekistan -USA  First Healthcare Forum—an event that not only aimed to enhance healthcare in Uzbekistan but also fostered invaluable connections between Uzbek and US healthcare professionals. The forum proved to be an exceptional platform for networking, as it provided opportunities to meet with fellow healthcare teams and engage in meaningful discussions. Through insightful sessions and enlightening tours of Uzbek medical facilities, including hospitals and clinics, we gained firsthand insights into the challenges and advancements within the country's healthcare landscape. As we reflect on the experiences shared and connections forged at the Uzbekistan-USA First Healthcare Forum, we are inspired to continue our collective efforts towards advancing healthcare in Uzbekistan and strengthening collaborations between healthcare professionals across borders. Together, we can make a profound difference in the lives of many.

We had the privilege of visiting the esteemed Bukhara State Medical University.
